Why is Type-thing Services
less expensive and a better value?
We are often asked about the cost of our
transcription. For legal transcription, your total
cost is often less and our overall value greater
than our competitors. Here are a few reasons
why:
•
Verbatim accuracy is critical for legal
transcription. We understand how to
transcribe legal proceedings so that they are
ready for your particular need or court
system.
•
Our cross-domain experience in other fields
of transcription means that we're excellent at
legal transcription in these areas, particularly
the medical field.
•
We can provide 24 hour to 48 hour turn
around in some situations without additional
cost including scheduled regular work. We
can provide rush transcription for other
urgent work if we have enough capacity (at
rush rates).
•
When we transcribe dictation from an
attorney, unless you say otherwise, we
convert your spoken English into written
English, remove redundancies, and end up
reducing the word and line count for your
finished product. This saves you money.
Many other services type exactly what you
say, resulting in more cost to you and words
you must delete from the finished
transcription!
•
When we apply our secretarial skills to
convert your documents into final form
during the transcription process, you spend
less of your time or no time trying to fix
faulty transcription from over-seas or less
capable services.
•
If your audio is of poor quality, we'll contact
you before proceeding. We won't create and
charge for a useless transcript of
"indiscernibles" that you cannot use. If you
want to proceed, we can attempt to enhance
the audio or spend extra time working
through the material slowly. Such work is
difficult and fatigues the transcriptionist.
This daunting evidence is often easier scanned
and understood through conversion to documents
rather than listening to hour upon hour of audio
and video.
It seems that each court system and police
department have their own special format for
audio and video recordings and ways in which
they provide this information to attorneys. Type-
thing Services has experience in many of these
and will convert that audio as needed for our
transcriptionists. Many recordings from police
belt recorders are not of the best quality. We are
able to amplify and at times filter to remove noise
so the audio is more easily transcribed.
Don't waste money or critical encounters by
recording audio of poor quality. We can advise
you on the best way to capture audio so that you
have the clearest material from which to
transcribe. See our tips about transcription for
some information on this website.
Also note that Type-thing Services regularly files
documents directly with court systems for
lawyers when providing generalized office
support.
